I was born in the Los Angeles area where God saved me from my sin and called me to be His son. But my family soon moved to northern California when I was 8, and then to Massachusetts where I had difficulty growing in the Lord. I started down the path of rebellion in high school, but God graciously allowed me to come to grips with my eternal state through a car accident that knocked out 3 teeth and gave me 60 stitches in the face as well as a concussion. In God’s mercy, He made me realize that if I was going to call myself a Christian, I needed to start living like one. God started producing fruit in my heart, and my life changed. It was soon after this, at the age of 17, that I decided to pursue full-time ministry as a pastor.
I went to a Christian college in Pennsylvania with the hopes of getting a jump start on seminary. However, I was surprised to learn many false and deceptive philosophies of men from a college that outwardly professed Christ. God graciously protected me during this difficult time and taught me the paramount value of sound doctrine. After I graduated from college, God led me to Capital Bible Seminary where I received the biblical education I had been searching for. I graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 2001. During seminary, I married my lovely wife Sandy in 1998.
I have been blessed to serve in churches in Maryland, California and Kansas. I have been involved in ministry shepherding children, youth, college students, single adults, families and senior saints. God has allowed me to provide leadership, teaching, counseling and discipleship through the gifts He has given me.
Despite my weaknesses, failures, and pride, God has continued to show infinite patience with me. God graciously used many challenges in my life to build my character, to help me learn to pursue humility, and to learn to find fullness of joy in God alone. I am so grateful that He did this and continues to do this for me. Along the road, we have had 3 children – Andrew (2002), Matthew (2005) and our precious little girl, Emery (2006).
God brought me to Alameda Bible Church in November of 2011. I am excited to be here in this new role and join this family in Christ to glorify our great and magnificent God.
